Ranks and PPs

A very fun aspect of Call of Combat is that after time and a certain number of promotion points (PPs) and a high enough rolling efficiency (REFF), you can gain rank.

Promotion Points

Promotion Points (PPs) are required to gain rank. They are handed out at the end of each game in debriefing. In the new game version, PP's are distributed automatically and evenly across all surviving players-- that is, PP's are also only given to you if one of your 4 random soldiers is alive at the end. You will not know which soldier to keep alive until the end of the game. You will also find as you play CoC PP's are not the most important thing in the game. Most CO's look for experience and skill over a statistic given to you just for staying alive.

If you die in a game you lose PPS, in AG games you lose 3 times more than what you would normally lose in Opens and player stats. On the other hand, If you survive in an AG game, you gain more pps then what you would in a Opens or Player stats game.

Rolling Efficiency

The second major aspect of gaining ranks has to do with rolling efficiency, or REFF. REFF is calculated by dividing the number of kills you've gotten in the past 100 games by 100 more than the number of deaths you've got in the past 100 games. In this ranking system, you have to maintain REFF and PPs to gain or keep rank.

Officer Ranks

These ranks can't be given to all. You can get these ranks if your AG CO or XO gives you a company or a promotion. For ranks to be available, the AG has to have a specified amount of active members and you must have at least 2500 pps. Tiers are available here.
