Beginners Tips
- In a Player Stats game, once you've joined a team you need to press the rather long-winded "Yes I'm Ready To Play" button. Once that is done, the red 'X' mark next to your name should change to a green 'check' mark. You are now good to go, and you'll be waiting for others to Ready up.
- Use right click on your mouse to re-center the map.
- The two buttons next to the zoom buttons (on your control panel in game) allow you to rotate the map clockwise or counter-clockwise.
- When playing, watch other more experienced Players closely, their techniques are effective and efficient.
- Follow Orders in Player-Stats/AG-Non Play-off/AG Stats games. --- Opens games do not have orders.
- Weapons are given out by the highest ranked member on your side (AKA CO).
Intermediate Tips
- Throw Grenade Usage, left click button, then left click ground around your soldier where you wish the grenade to land. Grenades have a throwing range of approx 5-6 squares depending on angle of throw, direction of throw (with respect to the direction you're facing) and movement of the thrower. They have a stun range of approx 2 squares, and a stun time of approx 15 seconds BUT this is variable. There is also a possibility that a grenade will kill a soldier rather than stun him.
- Want to trade weapons faster? Click the gun icon on the soldier you want, to trade faster!
- Do not spread your men to far apart or they will be unable to save each other.
- Do not have all your men stacked on one square it makes it to easy to kill you.
Advanced Tips
- Try out different nade angles in a no points room, then surprise the players in an open game!
- Use the "Fire at" button to stress enemy soldiers or to purposely try and snipe them.
- Use Patrol to check round corners.
More Tips
- Timing is important in CoC, try to guess what will happen in certain situations, e.g Time how long you will be stunned or Time when an MG Will fire next.
- Be EFFICIENT, dont waste your time rushing 3 squads with one man, instead allow your allies to back you up.
- Take Note of who is on your team, this will let you know who will be telling you what to do.
- Be Nice to Other Players. ;P
- Dont get yourself killed over a stunned man, be patient and restun him until you come up with an idea, or simply time when the enemy will throw grenades. Its not worth losing a man for a kill.

THeLeGeND (2Lt UBG) said: Try not to have your men on the same square, seperating them makes you less likey to be "Stack Grenaded".
xXBatmanXx (Csm DDA) said: Try not to join a team with a lot of low ranked members, join the opposite side so you can practice against people on your level.

Call Of Combat 5 Principles Of Success - M.A.D.O.T
Listed Below are the 5 Basic Principles that will help guarantee success in Call Of Combat.
In the game Call Of Combat, as with all other Strategic Games such as Halo Wars, AoE 3, etc. All Commanders and Players have their own strategic Agenda that they use to ensure Success. I, myself have devised my own List, which has several Important aspects of Gameplay and can be used to ensure Victory in AG Games, Player Stats Games, or any other Call Of Combat game for that Matter. These 5 Principles are; Maneuver, Agility, Deception, Objective, Terrain (Map).
Maneuver
Maneuvering is one of the most difficult aspects Commanders and Players Alike have to face in CoC. Without Tactically Savvy Maneuvers a Player may be Overcome Swiftly and thus be defeated. All Players In CoC should bear in mind that they must use their 4 Men to their Maximum Potential, or they could lack skills that some other Players Have.
For Example, A Player is being flanked By a Squadron, and Being attacked Head-On By another with No Support. The Player has 2 Choices, either a.) Move a man or 2 to the flank or b.)Fall Back. Under These Circumstances a Player must also bear in mind what the enemy will gain if they succeed in forcing a Retreat. If there is no urgent circumstance, and your Team is about to attack their rear, you might as well go with A.). However, in a game, it is Vital for a player to keep his Men Alive, so you must also bear In Mind that you may get rushed once the enemy notices they've been Flanked. I feel you can fall back at your own leisure, because whether this is selfish or not your survival can insure victory.
When Maneuvering don't;
- Stack, You might have a higher chance of getting Snipes by Spreading your men out
- Rush, as in, dont try to eliminate your enemy right off the bat as you might get Sniped to bits or May suffer heavy losses. Patience is key, Set-Up first then move on from there, be advised that Defenders have the Advantage so you may want to let them Attack you.
- Run in the Open, This is Self-Explanatory
- Rush an MG or BAR, you WILL get Sniped. Instead flank it, and/or lure them into a Close Quarter's Situation. If you HAVE TO rush, CRAWL!
Agility
Agility is also Important in CoC, Agility is what seperates the newbies from the Vets. An Agile and Quick Player will weave through Nades and will Strategically Place grenades to get the highest Percentage of a stun. These Players know that its better to run Diagonally from a nade as this will lessen the chances of your grenade stunning his man.
The Agility skill is difficult to grasp, and some people simply can't get the ability. Agility is also important when executing a plan, When Objectives are quickly completed, games are won, simple. However, when in a 1v1, one who is speedy must remain calm, and refrain from going all out within the first 30 seconds of the encounter.
Deception
Deception can help you get an easy kill, and is exactly what it means. Decieving your enemy can get you a quick kill or can even win a game. When you deceive an Opponent with a plan its much more different than with a simple ambush.
An Example of a Large-Scale Decption would be a Delayed Rush. A Commander will rush a Position with half of his force, while the other half lies in Hiding, once the first rush is stopped, a second rush will begin and this will usually go after an Important Strategic Position, If executed appropriately this will equate to a victory.
A Small Scale Deception is a Simple Lure, an Aggressive Opponent is coming after you. You have a Man Laying down near a low-wall in front of an entrance your about to go through. The Enemy follows you foolishly and you stand your man up and Snipe him with a 55%, Easy Win.
Objective
When A Commander is thinking of Objectives, a CO must bear in mind that the Plan MUST BE simple. Overly-Complicated Plans will throw Subordinates out of their game and they may find it difficult to cope with the Specific Objectives Listed. A Simple Rush Here and A Simple Flank There will do (Make Sure you list the Appropriate Players to their Designated Locations). A Commander must also bear in mind that If The VPs are not within the areas he’s assigned his men to be in, that he must then win the game by decimating his Opponents with an overwhelming amount of kills, the same with the other way around, if a CO goes for the VPs he must Capture them and Hold Them At All Costs.
Both Strategies work, however going for the VPs is easier, as exterminating the enemy is more strenuous and will result in more losses. In Call Of Combat, Defending is the way to go since it is easy to wait for the enemy to come to you rather than you go hunting for the enemy as you may get ambushed, sniped, killered or All of the Above.
Terrain
Know the Map your playing in, knowing how to play a map can give you insight on which strategies will work, and which ones wont. If you don’t know the Map, you may find yourself ordering Maneuvers that are ineffective, or are Insignificant to Victory. Knowing the Map will give you The Experience you need to win those Close Games, especially in stacked games.
Cover, Buildings, etc. are all Important when planning, A Building can make a flank un-breachable because of windows. An area can be a chokepoint without you even knowing it, a wide Open Space may be a little bit too wide or long and can be a Snipe Heaven. Knowing the terrain is an aspect a Commander must grasp before commanding a Fighting Force, that’s all there is to it.
