Introduction
What Is Grenading?
Overview
"A hand grenade is a small hand-held anti-personnel weapon designed to be thrown and then explode after a short time. The word "grenade" is derived from the French grenade, meaning pomegranate, so named because its shrapnel pellets reminded soldiers of the seeds of this fruit. ..."
In Call of Combat
In Call of Combat throwing a Grenade is usually called "Nading", which is short slang for the word.
A Grenade in Call of Combat has a high chance of just Stunning a player. There is also a small chance of the Grenade killing a player, commonly known as Killer Nades.
What Is Being Stunned/ Stunning Another?
Stunning is caused by a Grenade hitting a player, your soldier's marker will turn transparent and you will not be able to move that soldier for a certain amount of time. Stunning on average will last about 8-15 seconds, which is usually enough time to go and collect your kill. However - if you cannot collect your kill at a certain time, make sure you grenade the soldier again, which will keep him stunned for a considerable time longer.
- Tip:Stun time is calculated by the distance of the nade from the soldier is, for example; If you Nade directly onto a soldiers body, their stun time will be much longer than a Nade that only just manages to stun a soldier.
What Is A "Killer Nade"?
- A Killer Nade is a Grenade that instead of Stunning a player, will kill him.
- If you kill a team-mate with a Grenade, you will lose -2 Kills.
- Killer Nades have less of a chance than Stunning a player.
- Some players consider Killer Nades "Luck" as they are less likely than stunning.
How To Grenade
- To throw a Grenade, click the icon on your Control Panel with a picture of a Grenade on it.
- Now, click an area on the Map where you would like to throw your Grenade (Within 3-5 Squares - or you may stun yourself!).
- Your soldier will be in the Nading animation for about 1-2 Seconds, in this time(if running) your Soldier will "Warp" back, this is a useful advantage, and will be covered in this guide - with many different types of Grenades.
- Your soldier will throw his Grenade.
Tutorial
From now on, this guide will tell you about special types of Nades, and how to pull them off.
Dodging Grenades
Dodging Grenades is very important in Call of Combat. It can count on the life or death of your soldier.
To dodge a Nade it is simple, Run Away! The difficult part is to get your timing right. When in a Nade battle, timing is Vital.
A good hint for starting to run away is to watch the enemy. When they go into the Nading animation you should consider running away. Always run away in the direction that will give you maximum separation between you and the grenade explosion. Sometimes that might mean running diagonally or even perpendicular to the nade coming!
Throwing Basic Grenades
Basic Grenades are extremely easy to pull off, all players should know how to do these.
Warp Nade
Difficulty:Very Easy
- Begin with your soldier running forward
- Click the Nade button
- Click somewhere infront of your soldier(again, 3-5 squares infront - atleast)
- Your soldier should warp back a Square, giving you a Nading Advantage.

- Start at the side of a Window
- Run along the wall, click the Nade Button
- Click to Nade Inside the window
- From the left, click in the right; From the right, click into the left.

Advanced Warp Nade
Difficulty:Very Hard
This Nade consists of a player running Diagonal to throw a Grenade, this will result in the Grenade travelling further. Be Warned, this Nade can be difficult to pull off, and will need practice.
- Run diagonal
- Throw a Grenade ahead of you, try to get it as far as possible.
- The Nade should be thrown about 8-9 Squares
- The Grenade will Explode.
Tips
- Game Tip: When Nading someone who is behind a wall, always get the grenade over the wall; otherwise the player can duck and avoid it. Which is a waste of a Grenade.
- Game Tip: Nades can be avoided in many ways, Ducking, running. If in a window and naded from a distance duck, the nade will not stun you, you may then get up and nade the opposing player.
- Game Tip: If mistakenly you click to nade somewhere, suddenly click Down on your man to make him cancel throwing the grenade
- Game Tip: Click Run To in the general direction you want to nade (grenade). Then click on the ground somewhere in front of your soldier to throw a grenade that goes about one square longer than a grenade thrown standing still
- Game Tip: Always grenade first. Grenading first before the enemy gets there sets them off a bit,. They will take about 2-3 seconds as they run away from the grenade. This lets your squad snipe for a few more seconds
- Game Tip: Many players try to save stunned soldiers by throwing grenades with another. Try to make the enemy soldier first stunned stay stunned. This means the enemy player will be fighting at 25% Less Combat Strength
- Game Tip: Don't run around corners unless you have thrown at least 3 grenades. Most players have additional men behind a corner.
- Game Tip: Tip for grenading around windows. Click near the bottom ledge of windows. This usually lands the the grenade opposite of the window you are facing.
- Game Tip: If a grenade is coming to you at a window or a wall, try to click 'Down' on your soldier. You may dodge the grenade.
- Game Tip: Nade facing, is clicking the Grenade Button, then clicking on an area on the map you want your soldier to face (this area must be greater than 7 squares away). Click so your men face the direction you want, but don't grenade. (nade facing no longer works due to an update to the game)
- Game Tip: If you aren't good with grenades, many times you can draw the enemy into grenading you, and you can try to snipe them when they are in the open.
- Game Tip: When throwing a grenade you are more vunerable to getting shot.
- Game Tip: Nading outside a window will rarely stun the man at the window since he can dodge it by laying down. Save the nade til you are able to nade inside the window which will stun the man at the window even if he lays down.

Conclusion
Thank you for reading this guide, the key to getting good at nading is to practice. A good way to practice is to go into a No Points room with a friend and practice these nades on eachother. - Karma
