Problem # 1: Authentication server unavailable.

Resolution/Workaround:

  • Check that you have internet connectivity and outgoing communications with 94.75.207.153 port 4443. Enable this address to leave you firewall/router.
  • Reboot your router.

Problem # 2: Unable to join a game room.

Resolution/Workaround:

  • Ensure you have upto date java 32bit not 64 bit. Remove the 64bit java via add/remove programs(XP) or programs and features(Vista/7). Install Java 32bit from here - http://www.filehippo.com/download_jre_32/6862/
  • Download the game and updates. This can be done via the light bulb button in the bottom right corner of the game lobby.
  • If there were no updates force redownload of the game via the lightbulb button in the bottom right corner.
  • Try > CoC Options > Use Java Webstart For Game.

Problem # 3: Can’t download the game files.

Resolution/Workaround:

  • Change the game mirror. Choose the fastest mirror by selecting check speeds and selecting the mirror with the highest KB/s.
  • Ensure your firewall/router is allowing the traffic through.
  • Try > CoC Options > Use Java Webstart For Game.

Problem # 4: Graphics not loading when clicking join in the game room (black screen).

Resolution/Workaround:

  • Click > View > Reinitialize 3D Graphics.
  • Click > View > Reset map view.
  • Check you have the latest graphics drivers. See Problem #8.

Problem # 5: Low FPS/choppy animation.

Resolution/Workaround:

  • Click >File > Game settings, reduce settings.
  • Check for updates to graphics drivers, see problem #8.
  • Close unnecessary programs running on pc to improve performance.
  • Reduce screen resolution on your pc. 800x600 seems to have a positive effect.

Problem # 6: When loading graphics the game room becomes unresponsive and java binaries spits out an error - Had 2 of these faults with newer Nvidia cards(9600 in one instance), seems to be a Nvidia opengl clash.

Resolution/Workaround:

  • Installing driver from the bottom of this page resolved the issue -http://developer.nvidia.com/object/opengl_driver.html
  • If you just installed new gfx drivers for your Nvidia card you may need to roll them back as some aspects of opengl within the nvidia drivers have either been depreciated or updated that are no longer compatable with Call's opengl libraries.

Problem # 7: Unable to join a game room error: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\.coc\gameFiles\regular\lib\jogl.dll: %1 is not a valid Win32 application OR "Failed to extract DLL_Win32.jar"

Resolution/Workaround:

  • The game directory at \.coc is missing the jogl file for some reason. See problem #3.

Problem # 8: Are my graphic drivers upto date?

Resolution/Workaround To check click start, type in run "dxdiag" then go > Display tab > Device name to find out your type of graphics card. Then match the card type with the manufacturer site below to download and install.
