In-Game Tips/Hints

MOVING

  • Game Tip: Do not run around in the open needlessly. Take cover or you will surely get sniped.
  • Game Tip: Try to retreat or fall back at an angle, so the enemy does not have a straight shot at your back, making you harder to hit.
  • Game Tip: When retreating, try to retreat with one man at a time, as well as leaving one man in front to draw fire while the rest of the team retreats
  • Game Tip: Do not stack your men together. This allows the enemy to easily stun your men with one grenade. Spread your men out where possible.
  • Game Tip: Try to use all your men effectively. An enemy soldier being fired at from two seperate directions increases the chances of death.
  • Game Tip: Move in between enemy shots, especially against BAR/MG guns.
  • Game Tip: Move when you see the enemy is shooting the other way; away from you.
  • Game Tip: When running, drop down to crawl when an enemy soldier is firing at you. Switch to run again when they stop. This helps to preven getting sniped.

SHOOTING

  • Game Tip: If you see a person with an MG42 or BAR try to avoid rushing that area. Unless you can stress them effectively.
  • Game Tip: Snipes are an RNG factor in the game that everyone will have to learn to live with. Nothing is ever 100%, but good players will always decrease the chances of them happening, thus giving them the upperhand in the majority of games.
  • Game Tip: When assigning a weapon, take all your ammo out of that guy first, then assign it.
  • Game Tip: When given an ammo box, distribute it to all four soldiers rather than leaving all your ammo on one man
  • Game Tip: Laying down a soldier at a corner allows him to fire at any enemy soldier that walks by with an almost auto-matic kill. Be aware of players that grenade at corners.
  • Game Tip: Sometimes, you may be able to lure the enemy into firing at a specific soldier. If you can do this, use other men to perform an attack while the enemy is shooting at the distraction soldier. Sometimes works.

NADING (Grenading)

  • Game Tip: Nades can be avoided in many ways, Ducking, running. If in a window and naded from a distance duck, the nade will not stun you, you may then get up and nade the opposing player.
  • Game Tip: If mistakenly you click to nade somewhere, suddenly click Down on your man to make him cancel throwing the grenade
  • Game Tip: Nading tip. Click Run To in the general direction you want to nade (grenade). Then click on the ground somewhere in front of your soldier to throw a grenade that goes about one square longer than a grenade thrown standing still
  • Game Tip: Always grenade first. Grenading first before the enemy gets there sets them off a bit,. They will take about 2-3 seconds as they run away from the grenade. This lets your squad snipe for a few more seconds
  • Game Tip: Many players try to save stunned soldiers by throwing grenades with another. Try to make the enemy soldier first stunned stay stunned. This means the enemy player will be fighting at 25% Less Combat Strength
  • Game Tip: Don't run around corners unless you have thrown at least 3 grenades. Most players have additional men behind a corner.
  • Game Tip: Tip for grenading around windows. Click near the bottom ledge of windows. This usually lands the the grenade opposite of the window you are facing.
  • Game Tip: If a grenade is coming to you at a window or a wall, try to click 'Down' on your soldier. You may dodge the grenade.
  • Game Tip: Nade facing, is clicking the Grenade Button, then clicking on an area on the map you want your soldier to face (this area must be greater than 7 squares away). Click so your men face the direction you want, but don't grenade.
  • Game Tip: If you aren't good with grenades, many times you can draw the enemy into grenading you, and you can try to snipe them when they are in the open.
  • Game Tip: When throwing a grenade you are more vunerable to getting shot.

TACTICS

  • Game Tip: Beware that other players may set traps for you.
  • Game Tip:If you are low down in the chain of command, you will have barely any eyes, only of your subordinates, so use tactics to find the enemy without eyes. ex; watch where bullets are fired
  • Game Tip: Recognize the early warning signs of when you are about to be flanked from multiple sides. Try to re-position, retreat, to counter the enemy movement. Staying too long will mean it will be too late to retreat as the enemy will be upon you
  • Game Tip: As you play more, you will get more familiar with maps, and certain areas to fight in. This lets you adapt more easily to tactics and enemy movements on that map as you continue playing.
  • Game Tip: Hiding behind walls in certain close-combat areas can yield beneficial results, if the passageway is narrow and the wall is behind an entrance
  • Game Tip: You can pick up ammo from a dead soldier, as well as grenades using the 'Trade' button when beside a soldier. Scour the battlefield to supplement your men as you fight your battles!
  • Game Tip: When at a low rank, you cannot see what your superior officers can see. In battle, this means you have a small area to see the battle. Pay attention to your teammates nearby--if you see them change positions, follow their move.
  • Game Tip: When facing overwhelming numbers alone, always try to retreat. Most likely if they are pushing you, your team is pushing on the other side of the map. Fall back, and delay their advance long enough for your team to flank them
  • Game Tip: Everyone can get overrun, very few players can hold off 2-3 squads in a non-bottle necked area. Retreating is always a viable option, unless retreat gives the enemy a location that is crucial to the battle.
  • Game Tip: Hold a position only if you know you can hold it against overwhelming numbers, a Higher Ranking Officer orders you to, or if you know holding that position for a certain amount of time will give your team an advantage
  • Game Tip: If you run into an enemy also moving around a sharp corner, click the 'Down' button. This gives your soldier an advantage to fire a shot and kill the enemy soldier first. Do not click the grenade button unless it is the right situation.
  • Game tip: Some players decide to hide under windows, if you suspect a player hiding, nade into the window and go check to see if you got him, be aware that you may not hit someone if you do not nade properly into the window
  • Game Tip: If you happen to see someone hiding/defending a VPs area really well, try to avoid that region and eliminate the rest of the enemy team outside that zone.
  • Game Tip: Follow plans as expected in Stats games. It is not good to hold if you are supposed to attack with someone. Follow the plan or go to the Open Rooms.
  • Game Tip: Friendly Stress is when your one's soldiers are being stressed by friendly bullets. Knowing how to set-up without stressing your own team, is something that seperates good players from the average.
  • Game Tip: Try to set-up in positions you can get a good line of sight, or to trap the enemy. Doing this within seconds before the enemy arrives will show how much ability you have to fight and use the terrain to your advantage.
  • Game Tip: Patience. Some people have none and they get sniped a lot, some people have too much and they do nothing but snipe, and some people have it just right and they know when to attack/defend and they're generally the best/smartest players.
  • Game Tip: If the enemy has an automatic weapon (MG,BAR,Tommy,or MP40), take cover and stress the enemy. Do not try to rush the position--you are likely to get killed.

General Tips

  • Tip: We have 4 game room types, No Points (mainly for testing and training), Open Games (you jump into a game at almost any time), Player Stats (must wait for games to start) and AG Stats (where AGs play recorded games for AG standings), AG non playoff (where AGs play but don't count for AG standings / training )
  • Tip: In Open Rooms, players cannot join a team once the time limit hits 4:00.
  • Tip: In Opens Rooms, if one side's Deployment Zone (DZ) has one enemy soldier within 5 squares, no players can join that team while that soldier is there.
  • Tip: When in Player Stats Rooms, click 'Join Game' to join the waiting list. Then click 'I am Ready' to confirm your present to play the game.

Chat Tips

  • Chat Tip: Pressing on a player's name in the lobby allows you to whisper to them privately, without anyone else hearing or reading your conversation.
  • Chat Tip: Pressing on 'Team' on the chatbox in a Game Room lets you talk to your team.
  • Chat Tip: Pressing on 'to AG' in a chatbox lets you talk to your AG.
