History

Before Call of Combat

BHB was originally to appear in Chain of Command with travlow as the CO and Sting as the XO. The AG would be known as the Red Dragon$ with the tag of RED. The use of the '$' symbol was a tribute to MidNight$, CO of MNR and former CO of travlow as well as many other members of the prospective regiment. However, Chain of Command ceased to exist after 2am games went bankrupt. With the news of a new, Chain of Command-based game being developed, travlow notified his former prospective members with his intentions of bringing RED to the new game known as "Sons of Glory." Since the name "Red Dragons," was not necessarily related to the military, travlow announced that the name would be changed to "Elite Navy Seals" with the tag "ENS." As the plans for Sons of Glory were delayed, travlow became increasingly inactive and made the decision to hand over the prospective regiment to his XO, Stingray1129. Stingray changed the name of ENS to the 86th Blackhawk Brigade (BHB). During this time, Sons of Glory development had joined forces with the developers of another Chain of Command-based game known as Call of Combat. During the development of Call of Combat, the prospective members remained very active in the BHB forum. Some of pre-Call of Combat members of BHB were Stingray, Cliff Chairbane, sbf, ElDorado, MikEE12, Anthony249, IronButterfly, 11D, and panderson.

Early Call of Combat

When Call of Combat selected its first official Army Groups, Stingray submitted the application for BHB with Cliff Chairbane as his XO. However, BHB failed to be accepted in the first round of AG selections as well as the second due to what were decribed as member discipline problems. The decision to not select BHB was controversial because at the time of both AG selections, BHB's player base was one of the most active and was considered by many to be a lock for first round acceptance. After being rejected for the second time, most of BHB joined Nubnacker's AG, NBK, until they were finally accepted in 2004. BHB went on to have one of the winningest records before disbanding in 2006 after having changed its name to Easy Company (EzC). The first disbanding was largely due to Stingray's inactivity as well as El Dorado's departure from BHB to form his own AG, Fallen Angels (FAs).

Revival

In the summer of 2008, several former BHB players began to plan a revival of BHB. The efforts to bring back the 86th Blackhawk Brigade were first started by IronButterfly. After having been controversially kicked from Ranger$ Fatal Attack (RFA), IronButterfly began to gather support to bring back BHB with himself as CO. After gathering well over the required amount of supporters, IronButterfly and MikEE12 (currently GENERALFELDMARSCHALL MIKEE) decided that Mikee would have the CO position and IronButterfly would assume the role of XO in order to increase the likelihood of being accepted. After being accepted, IronButterfly relinquished his XO position to the original CO of BHB, Stingray. By next February, Stingray would take over as CO and lead BHB to three straight 1st place finishes and also achieved the Colonel rank for the first time in the new ranking system. After stepping down in the late summer of 2009, Dave101 took over as CO and BHB was disbanded shortly after due to Dave's inactivity and the formation of a new AG, LGB by Blade which took a fair amount of active players from BHB.
